In todays world, technology is making it more easy for children to learn and adapt to our standards of education. The makers of Intel are many of corporations that dedicates most of their products to learning. They have come up with the "Intel Reader" which helps children with Dyslexia to read better. However, it not only helps with kids with reading problems, but also accomodates to people who have impaired vision.
After seeing how these innovations help people, it makes me think that anything is possible and that there always going to be new and different ways to make learning easier. Since a child may have Dyslexia, the Intel Reader will actually speak the words for them making reading more fun and audible. This also goes for people with vision impairment. This is definitely technology working at it best and making learning and living just a bit easier. http://www.intel.com/about/companyinfo/healthcare/products/reader/video.htm

Just Sayin..
I wonder all the time if this major is right for me. But then I think that I love kids and that our upcoming generation needs educators now more than ever. Since this is my passion, I will overlook the negatives and just focus on the positives. However, I find it kind of hard to believe that some of the classes I am taking pertain to my major. Just Sayin.. I mean I don't feel like political science relates to what I want to teach. I actually want to teach Sociology and I don't need to know about our political system to do that. Jus Sayin... I understand that America wants to produce more "well-round citizens" however I don't know anyone who actaully remember half of the things they learned in college. I personally do not think it should take four years to complete college. Jus Sayin... But they made it that way to get money out of us. So think about that and let me know what you think..

Who I am/ My goal
My name is Jordan Calvert and I want to teach. I graduated from Ben Davis High school and now I attend IUPUI. My major is Social Studies education and I am hoping to maybe teach Sociology. My goal in this course is to learn how to make technology an everyday tool for me and my future students to use. There is a gap in education between our students and other students in other countries. It is up to us to bridge that gap and to make learning fun again. Leave comments on how you think we can do that. Or just tell me what you think. Thanks....
